Al Hashmi, a Wadi Bani Khalid native, is the Chief Audit Executive (CAE) for Ooredoo Oman reporting to the Audit Committee. He provides strategic direction and leadership in the areas of Internal Auditing, Risk Management, Governance, Operational Improvement and Change Management. Al Hashmi has a vast experienced having worked for the world's top Big Four accounting firms in New Zealand, USA, Canada, UK and the GCC; within the field of business risk and advisory.

His previous organizations included PricewaterhouseCooper (PwC), Ernst & Young and Deloitte. He has cumulated over 15 years of experience in Risk Management, Internal Audit, Process Improvement, Governance and Human Resource Consultancy.

Currently, Mr Al Hashmi is the elected President of Institute of Internal Audit (IIA) Oman (sponsored by CBFS) and a Member of the Institute Relation Committee of the IIA Global. He is also a board member of the Omani Certified Public Accounting Association.

Al Hashmi holds a bachelor's of science degree with Honors from The University of Salford, UK, majoring in Finance & Accounting. He is a Certified Internal Auditor and holds a Certification in Risk and Information Control as well as a Certification in Risk Management Assurance.
