About Me

Badar Al Kharusi has more than twenty years of practical experience. He is currently working as a Director General of Human Resources Development Directorate.
Badar had got a Bachelor and Master degree in Education from Sultan Qaboos University. In 2011, he received his PhD in Philosophy of Education from Curtin University in Western Australia. In 2012, finished special training program on Emerging Leaders organized by Harvard University, USA.
Badar worked as a teacher and an educational researcher. He also served as a Deputy Director of the Technical Office for Studies and Development and as an Assistant Director General of the National Career Guidance Centre at the Ministry of Education. His research interests focus on education reform issues, Public Private Partnership, career guidance, and theory and practice of citizenship education. He has a number of published articles.
Badar participated in many important committees. This includes the five-year plans preparation committee for the Ministry of Education, Committee for the preparation of school education and higher education law, the main committee for educational policies at the Ministry of Education, and Oman vision 2040. Badar is also a member of the advisory council of the Faculty of Arts at Sultan Qaboos University and the University of Nizwa and Faculty of Education at the Arab Open University. At the regional level, he is an active member in the educational work through his membership in the Board of Trustees of the Arab Center for Educational Training of the Gulf States. At the international level, he worked with UNESCO as a training expert in education quality field.
