About Me
Khalfan Al Sharji has almost 22 years of work experience. He joined Al Rawasi Al Shamalyia LLC as CEO in November 2020, to start new experience in the Mining Sector. Before that, he worked for the Capital Market Authority-CMA from November 2000 to September 2020. During his years in the Authority, he supervised many departments, and in November 2014 he was promoted to be the General Manager of Capital Market Institutions. His last position in the Authority was as Acting Vice President for Operations. He also held the position of Vice Chairman of the Settlement Guarantee Fund Management Committee and a member of the Omanization Committee in the Financial Sector. He also chaired a work team preparing the Authority's strategy to develop the capital and insurance market sectors in the Sultanate. Khalfan has deep experience in the field of capital markets operations, and he has written and published many specialized articles in this field, the latest of which is on the role of the capital market in promoting economic development, and he participated in the preparation of many laws and regulations. Khalfan is a first batch graduate of the National Program for Leadership and Competitiveness, University of Oxford under the supervision of the Diwan of Royal Court 2018. In addition, he has completed the Advanced Strategic Management (ASM) Certificate from Business School (IMD), Switzerland. He holds a high diploma in financial analysis from the Arab Academy for Banking and Financial Sciences, as well as a professional diploma in international capital markets regulation and compliance from the International Capital Markets Association. He also obtained a Bachelor's degree in Economic Sciences from Sultan Qaboos University in 2000.
