About Me
Driven by his endless ambitions and being eager to develop his skills, Khalid has started building his professional experience since he was a university student. From 1997, Lab technician supervisor was the first role he undertook for 3 years simultaneously while studying at the SQU. Straight after finishing his Mechanical & Industrial Engineering Degree from Sultan Qaboos University, he was employed in PDO where he worked for PDO until Jan 2008. He has moved through various roles in PDO in the technical & support functions including Well Engineering, Wells planning, materials management, Wells Contracts Holder, Planning, Contracting & Procurement and Leadership. He has also completed his MBA. With the drive of building an international experience and further enhancing his skills, he has taken the decision of joining BP in Feb 2008 when it started Khazzan Project in Oman. In BP, he has taken the roles of Supply Chain Team Leader, where he has been one of the lead contributors to building and setting up the PSCM department, processes and procedures during the startup of Khazzan project. In 2010, he has been appointed to an international role as PSCM Manager for BP in Jordan. The role included all Procurement & Contracting, Quality Management, Materials Management, Civil construction and Logistic team. In 2013, he has been appointed as Executive Advisor for the BP Middle East President where later in the year was appointed as Deputy General Manager & ICV Manager for BP Oman to help delivering Khazzan development phases, develop the Omani Talent, member in all Sub committees between BP and the government. In 2018, he has appointed as Vice President Gov Relations and is working in different special projects to support the long term business for BP in Oman in upstream and downstream (Petrochemical, Renewable Energy, growth of gas field). Currently he is the Middle East Business Transformation Manager focusing on new way of working, agility, integration of different businesses, continuous improvement and digitalization. He was a Board Member of Oman Society for Petroleum Services (OPAL) until end 2019. Member of Academy & Industrial committee for Mechanical Engineering at SQU and member of Oman business forum.
