Khalil is the Marine Director in Oman Shipping, heading the marine division that is responsible for the safe operation of the company’s ships including safety & quality, manning and training aspects. Khalil has more than 25 years experience in the maritime logistics industry. Khalil has more than 25 years experience in the maritime industry started in the Royal Navy of Oman, then joined the merchant navy sailing worldwide on tankers. Then came ashore and was involved in ships operations and management, consultancy in maritime administration, involvement in IMO and as examiner.

Khalil currently heads the marine division and is a member of the management team. He is in charge of an annual budget of + 100 M. USD.

Khalil is the founder and chairman of Oman Maritime Association (under formation), member of Nautical Institute, and Chairman of Nautical Institute – Oman Branch. Khalil has represented Oman in IALA for 4 years, and is a member of the Maritime Advisory Committee and Examination Board for maritime studies in MOTC and Founder and Chairman of the maritime magazine in Oman “BAHHAR”

Khalil holds Post Graduate Diploma, Shipping and Logistics from Middlesex University, London and is a graduate in Nautical Science, Southampton University, UK
